this is awesome!

I use this product on my newair 48qt fridge freezer and it is amazing. I do not have to worry about bringing an external power source because of the battery that gets installed in the fridge and the solar panel keeps the battery charged throughout the day and when camping at night the battery kicks in and lasts until morning when the solar panel charges it back up!

Lithium Battery / Solar Panel for my fridge!? Really cool!

Running a 12v fridge off your vehicle 12v socket is easy....until you turn off your car. Once you turn off your car, most vehicles disable to the 12v socket. Then you have to find an alternate power source like a portable power station to run your fridge. HOWEVER, this lithium battery and solar panel kit allow you to run your fridge for about 4 to 8 hours without having a separate power source. Since the battery fits inside the fridge, it doesn't take up any additional space! Very cool concept! If you are going to the grocery store and want to keep you food cool while running on other errands, if you are heading to a family BBQ, or even on a road trip and want to keep your food cold, this battery will give you the runtime you need for whenever you don't have your fridge running off your car 12v socket. You can also run the fridge indefinitely off the battery and solar panel if you have really good solar conditions. I think this concept is really cool and I have seen great results since picking up this solar panel and battery. The price is a little high for what you get since the solar panel doesn't put out as much power as its rated. If you already have a 100 watt solar panel it should work just fine plugging it into the 5521 barrel jack on the fridge, just pick up the battery by itself and save a few hundred dollars.

We have been using the solar with the 80qt cooler for about 2 months and now are using it with the 48qt cooler. Amazing product. If you do the math...you can have a proven cooler, a solar and battery set up and fill your cooler with beers for less than the cost of many other coolers. Well done Newair, and keep the great products coming. Happy Customer.

Amazed at how well it works!

I've been testing this with my 80 qt electric cooler and I am amazed at how well the solar panel keeps the battery charged, even when running the cooler on freezer and refrigerator mode. I also ran my cooler all night long on this battery and it was still working by the morning. So far so good, I didn't expect it to keep my cooler running all day a night, but it did!
