I didn't know this unit required draining of water when I bought it. I soon found the drain discharge was metric thread and couldn't be added to. I wanted to add a shut off valve and flex tubing but no plumbing suppliers in the area handled M18-2.5 threaded fittings. I tried numbers us times to cont...

Quit blowing cold
I had the thing for leas than a week and quit blowing cold. Is there a way to maybe recharge it with freon?

Expected much more
Barely had this unit set up for a day and disappointed. AC is set up in my small bedroom in my apartment and doesn't keep cool(my window is in shade too). Air louvers close on any setting (low, high) and AC will shut off when the louvers close which is nice when you're not wanting to use it.

This is my SEVENTH summer running this thing wide open. It is the absolute best air conditioner I have ever had. I highly recommend it to anyone!

Great efficiency and design
The vent is designed for the front of the unit, not on top, so you get more direct cooling. Very happy with this purchase

Subpar coolling, useless remote, but so far durable
I wouldn't recommend it for over 350 sqft It has trouble keeping up over 80 degrees in an area a little under 400Sqft. I think in general, portable units are less effective because the compressor is not outside a window. I believe a 10000 Btu window unit would be more effective. The remote has never worked right, so I don't use it. I am in my fourth summer of using it extensively, and it still works. The auto evaporation works well. I've never had to empty the unit I have been unable to find what the starting wattage or amperage is. It only lists the running wattage. I am thinking of buying a generator and would like to know what size I would need to run it

I should return it the first day I got it. It is aloud noises and and it only goes two directions(up and down). I only used it during summer when it's hot and hardly use it. After 3 years the compressor is no good. The water kept filled up very 30 minutes. Looking for a new portable A/C that doesn't make s too much noise.

This unit is quieter, more compact and we love the way it has built in storage for the hose and accessories.
