Stopped after a month
I LOVED this ice maker.. until this week. We've been diligent with cleaning, but now it's unusable. It forms a big chunk of ice, but will never drop and just continues to build up :( so disappointed

in only a few months it is broken
We've had this thing about 3 months. We don't have a large family it's just two people, so we use it for a few hours probably four nights a week. In this amount of time it has filled with water and not made ice, and now it just keeps the big clump of ice frozen to the area it should break out of and never comes out it just solidifies there with water running on it and freezing it more. It's really not a good product. We got this as a product to replace the last kind we had that had metal shards in the water, but I'm beginning to wonder if any of these ice makers are worth it.

one plus year review. Small glitch to start but......
In the first month of use the water pump failed but Newair sent me a new pump. Since then it has worked flawlessly. I use it weekly to build up a supply for the freezer. Would definitely recommend.

Never buy!!
This unit worked for about 5 months, then it started making craY noises and then stopped working. Now I loose my extended warranty ($34) and heve to pay ($35) dollars in shipping. Not a reputable way to do things.

I have had my Newair Clearice 40 for about 3 years and use it a lot! All of a sudden it won't push the ice out into the tray. It freezes in the metal grid. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

Regarding the issue you have mentioned, we kindly suggest that you turn off the unit and allow the ice block to melt. Once this is done, please proceed to clean the condenser and fan using compressed air. You can do this by removing the back panel of the unit. After completing these steps, we recommend waiting for a period of 24 hours before turning the icemaker back on and running an ice cycle.
