I love this ice maker so far
*This was sent to me as a review. I love my new ice maker so far and use it throughout the day and it holds a good bit of bullet ice in the basket at a time. My kids enjoy this ice too and put it in their cups for their juice. I highly recommend. It only takes about 10 - 12 minutes for it to make the ice. It's perfect for an apartment counter for it to sit.

I had high hopes
The machine started off great!! Then went downhill quickly. It has been less than a year and the machine will no longer tilt the ice over into the bin. It makes ice still but it is not dropping the ice for some reason. Also, it rusts really bad on the inside of the machine which is now impacting the ice. Ugh, I honestly don't even want to get it replaced.

Wouldn't buy again
Got this ice maker for home and have used it maybe 3-4x and today and extremely hot day decided to cut it on. Have been waiting for over an hour and no ice is dropping. I can hear the fan and the sound like it's dropping but nothing drops!!!!

I bought this ice machine on a literal whim and to me it was an excellent decision, I definitely am not dissappointed at all I love this ice maker/ It functions just like the big machines you see in hotels and restaraunts .It cycles fresh cubes in about six minutes.It is easy to set up and start using.A third grader could do it. I have had no issues whatsoever so dont believe all the negative comments This is a perfect gift for anyone special to you .I woulde def buy one again and again I love the quality of the product and it doesnt take up a lot of space and its portable.In my opinion this model is a definite winner!!!

Get the extended warranty as it breaks quickly!

Mine stopped working 2 months after I got it!!!!
I got this machine as a gift and it stopped working 2 months after I started using it. I'm very upset because it wasn't cheap… I love my ice so it was a real bummer. I wish there was a way to fix this, but the fan won't even work anymore either. No sign of life except for the lights on the buttons. I kept it clean and everything.

We purchased a Newair ice maker a few weeks ago after it was recommended by a family member. It works great and we have enjoyed a summer of ice cold drinks. I like that it is easy to drain from the bottom when not in use. The only downside is the interior is not refrigerated so the ice starts to melt if left in the basket. Not a huge deal as we empty the basket often and stockpile the ice in a freezer.

Open the drain plug, and then the dirty water is drained from the drain tube until all the water inside the appliance is drained out. The drain tube will need to be pulled out. How long is to long to not use the ice machine without draining it. I made lots of ice today so won't use again until tomorrow so do I need to drain water in that timeframe.

When asked how to clean the machine the response has been to use "detergent", however neither does the company sell a specific cleaning "detergent", but also has in the manual (literally) tp lot use detergent???????
