6 month investment
Purchased in May 24 & Worked great for 6 months but noisy as h3ll. November came and it began making some extra weird squealing noises then began leaking all over the countertop and kitchen floor.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. The machine will fail within 6 months or if you are lucky a year. And then they only offer you 40% off another faulty product.

DO NOT BUY - WORSE ICE MACHINE
I haven't even had this machine a year, and it is leaking water all over my counter from underneath. In addition, pieces of the machine are in the ice. Complete waste of money.

Second unit in ten months and still no ice!!
I purchased this ice maker as a Christmas gift in December 2023. The first unit worked for about five months before it stopped making ice. A replacement unit was shipped out at my expense (almost $30 for shipping) and It seemed to work well out of the box. A couple of weeks ago (late October 2024) it started making some strange loud noises and caused me some concern. It was still making ice until a few days ago and it stopped making ice. I can see ice in the hopper up top, but it is frozen solid and will not come out into the bucket. This ice machine has been a huge disappointment for me and my family. I would not recommend this product to anyone. It has been nothing but problems. These two units have lasted less than 10 months total. Not worth the money.

One of the WORST ice makers ever
I have had this nugget maker for about 9 months. In this time like others, I have had chunks of plastic in my ice. But more sickening than that is MOLD! I clean out my machine once a week. So I cleaned it yesterday and today THERE WAS MOLD! And now it's not even making ice anymore....not that I would have used the ice....expensive crappy machine!

LOVED IT WHILE IT WORKED
Only Been Sence July. Now the thing all the sudden starts clicking everytime we turn it on. Never did that before. I fear it is going to get worse. I can not find a diagram or parts for the unit anywhere to see about repairing the unit once it fully breaks. All manufacture devices should have a parts list so we can purchase and repair units. I am not thinking mine will work that much longer but we shale see.

Was great...until it wasn't. Purchased 2/2023
and by Sept. it was making noises so this one was the rep. Pieces now breaking and only 40% disc. on a new one as an ext warr. is req. to go beyond the 1yr warr. on the orig., don't recall being told.

1st one was great for 3 months and then major issues
I ordered one of these ice makers June 2023 and approx 5-6 months later it got incredibly loud and kept freezing up too much. I used the warranty and received a replacement after I had to pay for the shipping again. 2nd one out of the box was INCREDIBLY loud! I dealt with the noise to continue with my ice. Came home and my counter top was covered in water. The whole unit froze over and leaked everywhere. The machine also had white plastic chunks in the ice basket. Not worth the hassle.

Way too loud!
The ice that it makes is great, but it is way to loud. I can hear from the second floor of my house, not sure if I can deal with this.

I have the Newair model NIM044BS00 Ice maker. Its full if water, but the add water light is lit and wont run. Ive dound online that this could be a dirty water sensor, ut i cant find any information about this model regarding where the sensor is located and how to clean it if the clean mode isnt working. Can you provide me information on how to clean the water sensor in this model, or is there a way to bypass the sensor so i can run the clean mode on the ice maker? Thanks

My question is can I easily replace the pump or is it cheaper to replace the unit? Or is this a common problem with another fix?

What's the best way to clean this machine. I run the "Clean" function and only ever use distilled water but still get mold growth on the interior. The manual doesn't mention any other cleaning method.

How often should I run a cleaning cycle? Is adding 1/2 a cup of vinegar and filling the water to the max line sufficient? When we turn it off at night, is it OK to leave it plugged in and just press the ice button to stop production?

- Verified Reply - AlaiThank you for contacting Newair. Yes, the cleaning solution is sufficient. Press the “CLEAN” button. The power light will turn on for 5 seconds and then begin to flash. The cleaning procedure will last for 15 minutes. Once the cleaning cycle has ended, the power light will turn off. Press the “CLEAN” button again to turn off the function. 3. Once the cleaning process has ended, drain the excess water by positioning the ice maker near a drainage source. Remove the drain plug from the back, pull out the plug from the drainpipe, and let the water drain out completely. Then reinsert the plug. Best Regards, Customer Care.Was this answer helpful to you

There are black specks all the time, cleaned constantly & only use drinking water. Is there a charcoal filter in the unit & can it be replaced? Haven't been able to use the ice in weeks & clean it every day trying to fix the issue.
